Japanese investment into renewable energy increased 73 percent to $16 billion following 2011 earthquake



"In Japan (investment in renewable energy ).. surged 73 per cent to $US16 billion as the government introduced subsidies for wind, solar and geothermal power following the earthquake in 2011 that closed most of the nation's nuclear reactors."
