Burial in family tombs seems to be changing amogst Japanese customers according to survey

"The poll appears to indicate a move away from the traditional belief that people should be placed in family tombs after death. In a similar survey conducted in 1994, 64 percent of respondents wanted to be interred with their husbands or wives, while 33 percent wanted to be consigned to their ancestral tombs."
