Sharp said to soon start eliminating 5000 jobs mainly in Japan in cost cutting move according to sources

"Sharp announced in early August that it would eliminate some 5,000 jobs by March 2013, about 10 percent of its total workforce, mainly in Japan..would cut 1,300 jobs from its workforce at its Sakai plant Osaka Prefecture.. 2,000 employees to be reduced through early retirement will consist of about 1,000 administration staff at the head office and a total of 1,000 workers from the Yaita LCD panel plant in Tochigi Prefecture and Katsuragi solar plant in Nara Prefecture"
