East Japan Railways adopts buttons in trains to allow Japanese customers to shut train doors

"In an effort to maximize the efficiency of air conditioners on trains, East Japan Railway Co. adopted a system that allows passengers to press a button to open or close a door of a train waiting at its starting point, such as Tokyo and Shinagawa stations on the Tokaido Line."
