Young Japanese customers turning away from Western films over past few years according to research

“Young people in Japan have moved away from Western films in the past few years, experts point out. Today's youngsters "are not accustomed to watching images and reading subtitles at the same time," said an editor at movie magazine publisher Kinema Junpo Co. They are also increasingly drawn to movies based on popular domestic TV dramas and other topical films, he added.”
