Japanese upper house elections to be held on Sunday July 21st 2013

"Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on Sunday said an upper house election will take place on July 21 and voiced the possibility of delaying a consumption tax hike scheduled for next year if the economy remains weak....He stressed that his basic policy was to raise the 5% consumption tax to 8% next year and then to 10% in 2015."
