1. Japanese households have low penetration of dishwashers


“According to the Asahi Shimbun, only 26.9 percent of Japanese households have dishwashers, as opposed to about 62 percent of American households (as of 2007). The reason is mainly space… but also the running expense”




2. Japanese consumers love to read manga


“According to a survey by major bookseller Kinokuniya Co., 90 percent of customers buying comics are aged 19 and over, with women in their 20s to 40s comprising some 40 percent of buyers”




3. Japanese children walk less compared to 30 years ago according to study


"Children today spend a lot of time watching TV or playing indoors after school, instead of playing outside….Lifestyle changes are probably linked to a decrease in walking."

5. Japanese in their 30’ suffering disillusionment & insecurity according to survey


“the unemployment rate among those between 25 and 34 stood at 6.4 percent in January 2011..compared to a mere 2.4 percent in January 1992..The ratio of non-regular workers in the same age bracket.. stood at 10.9 percent in 1991, rose to 25.9 percent in 2010.”
