Japanese households spent more on bread than rice last year, as bread consumption rising

The Sanyo Gopan - 
uses rice to make bread.
Yes, unbelievable but true!



"The average Japanese household spent pounds $341 on rice last year, marking a 4.1 per cent drop in purchases from the previous year. Meantime, spending on bread rose by 0.2 per cent to $348 per household"
